Around this time, lawyers representing the Earl pressured the Daily Express to apologize for a piece that related to Lady Kitty’s rise on the social scene, to the Earl’s divorce from Caroline Freud, and to the division of the Spencer assets in that divorce.

And what’s even weirder was that he was never around the boys leading up to her death either. The only way she talked to him was over the phone!
He talked about how she was in despair though in other times he said it was at the hands of the newspaper there was one time he didn’t where it seemed to be pointed at the BRF, then he talked about the boys being raised by his blood family which he emphasized was the Spencers. Then to top it all off he suggested that if they were to raise the boys they would be happy but if raised by the BRF they would just be drowned in traditions instead of being happy.
At the end of the eulogy the crowds outside erupted into a loud barrage of applause. The Queen and other royals looked very shocked by the outburst of the public and agreeance with what he said.
“She would want us today to pledge ourselves to protecting her beloved boys William and Harry from a similar fate and I do this here, Diana, on your behalf. We will not allow them to suffer the anguish that used regularly to drive you to tearful despair.”
“And beyond that, on behalf of your mother and sisters, I pledge that we, your blood family, will do all we can to continue the imaginative way in which you were steering these two exceptional young men so that their souls are not simply immersed by duty and tradition but can sing openly as you planned.”
He was pretty against the BRF. His eulogy proved that to the entire world, and embarrassed the BRF.
